Mama Tee - A Narrative

Tee the cow had lived on the ranch for as long as I could remember. Tee was a gentle soul, always the first to greet me each morning with a soft moo as she stepped out of the barn.

I had always felt a special connection to Tee. There was something in the cow's dark, kind eyes that seemed to understand me better than anyone else. On days when I felt overwhelmed or when I simply was having an off day, Tee would come close, nudging me gently, as if saying, "You're not alone."

One evening, as the sun set behind the hills, I sat on the porch, watching Tee graze in the field. The sky turned a deep pink, and the world felt still. I took a deep breath, feeling at peace for the first time in weeks. Tonight, with Tee by my side, everything felt just right.

As if sensing my calm, Tee walked over and nudged my shoulder, resting her head gently against my side. I smiled, running my hand along Tee’s soft coat. "Thank you, Tee," I whispered, grateful for the cow’s quiet companionship.

In that moment, I knew I wasn’t just caring for Tee: Tee had been there for her, too, offering comfort in the simplest ways. We weren’t just a ranch hand and animal—we were friends. And for me, that was all I needed.
